September 26, 2026 - After a 0-0 score at halftime, the Bull Dogs took a 7-0 at Bloomington South, the top ranked team in Class 5A three minutes into the third quarter. However, the Panthers found their rhythm in the middle of that quarter and rolled to a 24-7 victory over the Dogs. The Bull Dogs’ offense struggled to find momentum all game, tallying only 41 yards rushing and 49 yards passing. The Dogs used a fumble recovery on the second half kickoff to lead to their only score, a fourth-down pass from Max Wilson to Cohen Long. While the time of possession was nearly identical for the two teams, the Panthers ran 61 offensive plays compared to just 39 for the Dogs, and they had a 17-6 advantage in first downs for the game. In addition to the touchdown reception, Long also had a key interception in the end zone for the Bull Dogs defense. Bloomington South took both sub-varsity games on Saturday morning, winning the freshman game 36-20 and the JV matchup 21-8. Columbus North (3-3) will host Brebeuf on Friday, October 2. This will also be Youth Night for the Dogs as they will have as their guest area youth and middle school teams. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
