September 30, 2026 - Columbus North girls volleyball improved to 14-8 for the season with a 3-1 victory at Bedford North Lawrence Tuesday evening. The Dogs jumped out to a 2-0 lead with a 25-23 victory in set one and a 25-19 triumph in set two before the Stars rallied for a 25-22 victory in set three. North closed out the match with a 25-16 decision in the fourth set. North won the JV match 2-0, but Bedford North Lawrence did not have a freshman team. Izabella Rice paced the Dogs with 11 kills, followed by Tania Maldonado with nine. Kyndal Wheeler recorded 11 digs, while Lexi Denny and Rori Pollert each had eight. Pollert also added a pair of service aces to lead the Bull Dogs. At the defensive net, Sophie Rohls and Emma Haston had three and two solo blocks, respectively, and Rohls added eight block assists. Denny dished out 37 assists in the victory. Columbus North will host Columbus East in Memorial Gymnasium on Thursday, October 1. Freshman and JV teams will begin at 6:00 pm, with varsity to follow the JV match. Columbus North will recognize the program’s seven seniors and will welcome local middle school teams as their guests for the event.
