October 1, 2026 - Columbus North boys tennis’ quest for a fifteenth consecutive sectional title (and 49th overall) began with a 3-2 victory over a Greensburg team that was 12-3 entering their quarterfinal match against the Dogs. Greensburg won the number two and number three singles matches, but the Bull Dogs swept the remaining matches and advanced to play Edinburgh (9-5) in one semifinal match this afternoon at Columbus North. Columbus East (6-10) and Hauser (10-10) will square off in the other semifinal. The finals were originally scheduled to be played Friday afternoon, but with rain in the forecast for Friday, the possibility exists that the finals will be played this evening, following the semifinal matches. This decision will be made later today. Individual match results versus Greensburg, in order of finish, included 1D: Luca Devidze/Cale Fitzsimmons W 6-2, 6-1 1S: Alek Devidze W 6-0, 6-0 2S: Andrew Huang L 1-6, 1-6 2D: Logan Morales/Max Wei W 6-3, 6-2 3S: Vyom Desai L 4-6, 1-6 The Bull Dogs are now 8-8 for the season. The two semifinal matches are scheduled to begin this afternoon at 4:30 pm.
