North boys soccer earns 3-1 victory at New Albany

August 24, 2022 - Flynn Keele netted two goals and Obed Oliva recorded a goal and an assist for the Bull Dogs, who improved to 5-0 for the season with a 3-1 victory at New Albany on Tuesday evening (August 23). The Bull Dogs surrendered their first goal of the season in the first half to trail 1-0, but rallied quickly for two first-half goals of their own, one by Oliva (assisted by Raul Oliveira), and one by Keele (assisted by Oliva). Keele then scored on a penalty kick in the second half to seal the Bull Dog victory. North outshot New Albany 21-7, including a 10-2 advantage in shots-on-goal. Max Grewe allowed the goal in his 40 minutes of work, and Oscar Ballinas recorded a save in his 40 minutes in goal for the Dogs. The JV team improved to 4-1 on the season with a 2-0 victory over New Albany. Freddy Madero and Derek Arau each had goals for North. The Bull Dogs will face Columbus East on Thursday evening as part of Rivalry Week at the BCSC Soccer Complex. Junior varsity will begin at 6:00, with varsity to follow around 7:30. As with the girls game on Wednesday evening, high school fans will sit on the turf in designated areas opposite their team’s bench, leaving the stands for other fans. Tickets will be $6 each.
