October 8, 2026 - With the score tied 1-1 after regulation and two overtime periods, Columbus North and East Central (13-3-1) were forced to use a penalty shootout to decide the Whiteland Sectional semifinal match on Wednesday evening. The Trojans out-shot the Dogs 6-5 in the PK segment to advance to Saturday’s sectional championship match against Center Grove (13-2-2). The Bull Dogs ended their season with an 11-3-3 record. Grace Bethuram scored North’s only goal in the first half of the match off an assist from Rachel Fulp. Danika Hoehn kept goal for North for all 94 minutes and recorded six saves. North will lose a number of seniors to graduation this season, including Avery Baker, Alex Sawin, Adi Butcher, Evelin Lopez, IreLynn McAlister, Riley Sims, Grace Merritt, Rachel Fulp, Lily Ryan, Emerson Chambers, Aliyah Young, and Danika Hoehn.
