October 18, 2026 - There is an adage in sports that it is difficult to beat a good team twice in a season. The Dogs showed Saturday afternoon in the Columbus East Girls Volleyball Sectional that it’s even tougher to beat them three times. After beating Franklin Community twice in the past eight days, the Bull Dogs fell to the Grizzly Cubs 3-0 in the sectional semifinals to finish their season 19-13. Sophie Rohls had six kills and a solo block, Kydal Wheeler and Rori Pollert each had nine digs, and Lexi Denny had 17 assists for the Bull Dogs against the Grizzly Cubs. Denny finished her senior season with 818 assists this season, and 1793 for her career, both setting new program records. The Dogs will graduate seven seniors from this year’s squad, including Ella Campbell, Lola Rose, Denny, Wheeler, Lily Doty, Tania Maldonado, and Pollert.
