November 26, 2023 - Sophomore Caleb Ferguson scored a career-high 21 points for the Bull Dogs, but North fell to Seymour 60-50 in overtime in varsity boys basketball. The Dogs led 22-21 at half time and 36-31 after three quarters, but the Owls caught fire in the fourth quarter to tie the game 44-44 at the end of regulation. Nolan Pickup had a shot from the corner at the buzzer to seal the victory, but the shot rattled out. The Owls then owned the overtime period, outscoring the Bull Dogs 16-6 while going a perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line when the Dogs were forced to foul. Pickup added nine points to Ferguson’s 21, and North was 13-for-18 from the free throw line for the game. However, Seymour’s physicality and hot shooting late in the game were more than the Bull Dogs could overcome as they dropped to 0-2 for the season. North swept the two early games as Cole Dawson’s 14 points led the freshmen (3-0) to a 49-36 victory. In the JV (2-0) matchup, the Dogs controlled the game from the start and cruised to a 59-32 victory, led by Judah Lewis’ 17 points. All three teams will host Silver Creek on Friday, December 1, with the JV and freshman games beginning at 6:00 pm. Any CNHS student who brings four or more canned goods will be allowed free admission to the game on Friday.
