December 1, 2023 - Silver Creek boys basketball outscored Columbus North 20-7 in the fourth quarter to pull away and grab a 60-44 victory over the Bull Dogs in Memorial Gym on Friday evening. Caleb Ferguson scored a team-high 16 points in the loss, and Max Coomes hit a trio of three-point goals to chip in nine points for the Bull Dogs, who just couldn’t overcome too many turnovers and eight three-point goals by the Dragons. The score was tied 21-21 at halftime, but the Dragons got hot from behind the arc in the second half, netting five of their eight treys in the second half. The JV team lost their first game of the season, dropping a 59-57 decision in one of the early games. Judah Lewis led the Dogs (2-1) with 26 points. North won the freshman game 47-43 in overtime, improving to 4-0 for the season. Devonte Degraffenreid led North with 13 points. The Bull Dogs will need to regroup quickly as they will travel to Martinsville Saturday night (December 2). The freshman and JV games will begin at 6:00 with the varsity to follow.
