December 6, 2023 - Columbus North, Center Grove, and Whiteland swim and dive teams met at Center Grove on Tuesday evening (December 5) for a triangular meet, which was scored as three dual meets. Columbus North beat Whiteland in both the girls division (125-58) and the boys division (126-55) as each team grabbed its first victory of the season. The girls fell to Center Grove 126-47, while the boys lost to the Trojans 120-65. Top finishers for the girls in the triangular meet included third-place finishes by the 200 yard medley relay team (Mridula Muthukumaran, Ainsley Sherlock, Sanaa Kulkarni, Georgia Abdallah), Katie Frazier in the 200 and 500 yard freestyles, Muthukumaran in the 200 yard individual medley and 100 yard backstroke, and Sherlock in the 100 yard breaststroke. The girls’ top event finish was claimed by Ella Gray Partin, who finished second in 1-meter diving. In the boys competition, Diego Cotero Tapia won both the 200 yard freestyle and the 100 yard butterfly, while Jude Abdallah won the 100 yard breaststroke. Runner-up finishes by the Bull Dogs included Abdallah in the 100 yard freestyle, the 200 yard freestyle relay (Cotero Tapia, Aarush Mahato, Abdallah, Isaac Proffitt) and the 400 yard freestyle relay (Proffitt, David Zhang, Brock Smith, Hudson Clock). Both teams will travel to the East Central Relays on Saturday, December 9, beginning at 11:00 am.
