December 10, 2023 - Columbus North girls swimming captured the team title in the East Central relays on Saturday, December 9, with the boys grabbing second place behind New Palestine. The girls scored 72 points, to edge New Palestine by just two points, while the New Pal boys scored 80 points to top the Bull Dogs’ 62 team points. The Dogs finished ten points ahead of third-place East Central. The girls team won three of the ten relay events, including the 200-yard medley relay (Mridula Muthukumaran, Ainsley Sherlock, Sanaa Kulkarni, and Georgia Abdallah), the 100-yard freestyle relay (Katie Frazier, Kara Buntin, Emma Glyn-Jones, and Max Andrews), and the 400-yard freestyle relay (Muthukamaran, Sherlock, and Kulkarni). The boys also took three of their ten events, including the 200-yard medley relay (Aarush Mahato, Jude Abdallah, Brock Smith, and Isaac Proffitt), the 150-yard butterfly relay (Smith, Mahato, Proffitt), and the 400-yard freestyle relay (Abdallah, David Zhang, Nicolas Bowers, and Hudson Clock). The Bull Dogs will travel to Columbus East on Tuesday, December 12 as part of WInter Rivalry Week. The meet is scheduled to begin at 5:30 pm.
