August 29, 2022 - The Floyd Central Highlanders handed the Bull Dogs a 1-0 defeat in varsity girls soccer on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at the BCSC Soccer Complex. A scoreless tie was broken in the 66th minute when an “illegal touch” call against Columbus North led to an indirect kick for the Bull Dogs and the only goal of the match. The Dogs (2-2-2) had a couple of near-misses in the second half, but saves by Floyd Central’s keeper kept the shots out of the back of the net. The Highlanders outshot the Dogs 11-9, including an 8-4 advantage in shots-on-goal. Paige Terry had a goal for Columbus North as the JV teams played to a 1-1 draw in the early game. The Dogs will host Plainfield on Monday, August 29, beginning at 6:00 pm (JV). The varsity match will follow.
