Grapplers earn second-place finish at Conference Indiana wrestling meet

January 15, 2024 - Justice Thornton (138 pounds) won his third consecutive Conference Indiana individual title, and teammate Asher Ratliff won the 157 pound title to lead the Bull Dogs to a second-place finish at the Conference Indiana Championships on Saturday (January 13) at Southport High School. Terre Haute South won the team title with 311.5 points. Bloomington South finished third, followed by Terre Haute North, Southport, and Bloomington North. The Bull Dogs received second-place weight class finishes from Nolan Riley (106 pounds), Jason Shuey (126), Cohen Long (132), Luke Spurgeon (150), and Alex Lozano (285). Liam Curfman (113), Evan Saevre (165), and Jose Ramirez (190) all finished in third place for North. Josiah Green was fourth at 144 pounds, and Jonathan Morales finished fifth at 215. The wrestling team will be back on the mat on Tuesday, January 16 at Salem High School. JV is scheduled to begin at 6:15, with varsity to follow.
