January 17, 2024 - The Bull Dogs had three players score in double figures (Garrett Long 19, Nolan Pickup 11, and Max Coomes 10), but North was unable to overcome 18 three-point goals by Jennings County as the Panthers claimed a 78-58 non-conference victory over Columbus North on Tuesday evening. The Panthers made 25 shots from the floor for the game (compared to 27 for the Dogs), but trading two-point goals for three-point goals doomed the Bull Dogs, now 4-8 for the season. In the JV game, North trailed the Panthers by 16 points after three quarters, but battled back in the fourth quarter to cut the deficit to just two before falling 71-68. Austin Perry led four Dogs (7-5) in double-figures with 25 points. The Bull Dogs cruised to a 44-15 victory in the freshman game. Cole Dawson led the Bull Dogs (7-3) with ten points as all thirteen Bull Dogs scored at least one point. Columbus North will host Perry Meridian on Saturday afternoon, with the JV and freshman games beginning at 3:00 pm.
