January 30, 2024 - Garrett Long (shown) had 22 points to lead four Bull Dogs with double-digit scoring as Columbus North fell 82-79 in double overtime to visiting Whiteland Monday evening. The game was a rescheduled matchup from a game that was postponed on Saturday due to illness and injury. Max Coomes had 17 points and the Bull Dogs got 15 and twelve from Caleb Ferguson and Nolan Pickup, respectively as they fell to 5-9 for the season. The Dogs jumped out 23-17 after one quarter and were up 30-26 at halftime, but a 23-15 advantage in the third quarter brought the Warriors back and gave them a 53-50 advantage after three quarters. The scoreboard read 60-60 at the end of regulation, and 70-70 after one overtime period, forcing a second extra period. The Warriors knocked down eight free throws in the second overtime to hang on for a three-point victory. The JV team jumped out to an early lead in the first game of the night, but were unable to hang on down the stretch. The pups fell 60-56, dropping them to 8-6 for the season. The Warriors made it a three-game sweep with a 53-42 victory in the other early matchup. The freshmen are now 8-5. All three teams will travel to Connersville on Thursday evening for a non-conference matchup, beginning at 6:00 pm.
