Dogs send two to the medal stand at State Wrestling Championships

February 18, 2024 - Columbus North had not had a wrestling State medalist since 2009. The Bull Dogs put two on the stand in 2024. Junior Justice Thornton earned a seventh-place finish in the 138-pound weight class, and sophomore Asher Ratliff finished eighth in the 157-pound class. Thornton, who finished the season with a 36-4 record lost his first two matches in the medal round, before beating Jaylen Covington of Pendleton Heights in the seventh-place match. Ratliff concluded his 40-5 season with three losses in the medal round to earn eighth place. The Bull Dogs finished with nine team points to earn a 43rd-place finish at the State Championships.
