Bull Dogs fall to Cougars in boys basketball

February 20, 2024 - Columbus North led Bloomington North in varsity boys basketball 19-16 after one quarter of play, but the wheels fell off for the Bull Dogs in the second quarter as the Cougars outscored the Dogs 25-8 in the second quarter and cruised to a 77-59 Conference Indiana victory. Caleb Ferguson netted 18 points and Nolan Pickup (shown) chipped in a dozen points in the loss, which dropped the Bull Dogs to 6-13 for the season and 0-4 in Conference Indiana play. The JV team also had a rough second half in the early game. After trailing by just one point, 25-24 at the half, the Bull Dogs dropped to 10-9 for the season with a 58-42 defeat at the hands of the Cougars. Mason Acton scored ten of his team-high 14 points in the first half for the Bull Dogs. The Dogs will host Center Grove on Thursday, February 22 in their last home game of the season. JV will tip off at 6:00 with varsity to follow.
