March 7, 2024 - The Columbus North track and field teams looked to improve their qualifying performances for the upcoming Hoosier State Relays at the second Bloomington North Invitational at IU on Wednesday evening. Top ten performances for the Columbus North boys included Adam Reckers (4th in 1600m) Denton Sluder (6th in 1600m) Draven Martinez (10th in 3200m) 4x200m Relay (Matt Burge, Derek Arau-Ortiz, Ben Stevens, Josiah Davis) (10th) 4x400m Relay (Stevens, Burge, Akot Tong, Arau-Ortiz) (6th) 4x800m Relay (Reckers, Evan Bense, Sam Steinmetz, Frankie Polyak) (5th) Distance Medley Relay (Logan Vanzant, Tong, Jace Works, Neal White) (1st) Wyatt Clark (9th in Pole Vault) Drew Schiefer (4th in Shot Put). Top ten performances for the Columbus North girls included Ava Collier (10th in 60m) Ainsley Sherlock (3rd in 1600m) Adira Sluder (4th in 1600m) Kenzie Pendleton (4th in 3200m) Lydia Week (6th in 3200m) Kallie McCain (10th in 60m Hurdles) 4x200m Relay (Collier, Avery Johnson, Mariana De Luca, Lillian Ryan) (9th) 4x400m Relay (Reece Peeples, Collier, Johnson, Maggie Russell) (8th) 4x800m Relay (Macy Eaton, Katie Frazier, Peeples, Emma Lowther) (3rd) Distance Medley Relay (Kyleigh Wolf, Russell, Tristan Works, Carys Glyn-Jones) (2nd) Avery Johnson (4th in High Jump and 9th in Long Jump) Kallie McCain (8th in Pole Vault) Abbi Schiefer (8th in Shot Put) The Bull Dogs will compete in their final HSR Qualifier on Friday evening (March 8) at the second Whiteland Indoor (at UIndy) before qualifiers will compete in the Hoosier State Relays on Saturday, March 23.
