Boys and girls track and field each place fifth in own invitational

April 7, 2024 - Neal White was the only event winner for Columbus North at the CN Invitational on Saturday, but both the boys and girls teams accumulated enough team points to earn fifth-place finishes. White won the 3200m run in 9:22.20. Bloomington North won the boys division (154.5 points) and Whiteland won the girls division (137 points). In addition to White’s event victory, other top-five finishers for the Bull Dog boys included Wyatt Clark (5th in pole vault), Drew Schiefer (3rd in shot put), 4x800m relay (White, Logan Vanzant, Jace Works, Akot Tong) (2nd), Owen Russell (4th in 110m high hurdles), Draven Martinez (4th in 1600m run), 4x100m relay (Sparks, Matt Burge, Derek Arau-Ortiz, Russell) (5th), Russell (3rd in 300m hurdles), Tong (3rd in 800m run), 4x400m relay (Arau-Ortiz, Works, Tong, Ben Stevens) (4th). Top-five Bull Dog finishes in the girls division included Avery Johnson (2nd in high jump), 4x800m relay (Carys Glyn-Jones, Kyleigh Wolf, Tristan Works, Reece Peeples) (2nd), Wolf and Ainsley Sherlock (3rd and 4th in 1600m run, respectively), Maggie Russell and Ava Collier (3rd and 4th in 400m run, respectively), Glyn-Jones (4th in 800m run), Adira Sluder (5th in 3200m run), 4x400m relay (Glyn-Jones, Russell, Works, Collier) (3rd).
