Five Columbus North student athletes participate in April 10 collegiate signing ceremony

April 10, 2024 - Five Columbus North student athletes will be participating in a collegiate signing ceremony hosted by the Columbus North Athletics Department on Wednesday, April 10 in the CNHS Cafeteria beginning at 5:30 pm. Each athlete will be presented by Athletic Director Brian Lewis and a representative from their high school coaching staff. Family, friends, and teammates of each athlete will be in attendance. Student athletes participating in this ceremony represent three Columbus North athletic programs, girls tennis, boys soccer and football. These student athletes’ future colleges or universities represent the NAIA, NCAA Division 3, and NCAA Division 1 levels. The Bull Dog student athletes planning to participate in the April 10 signing ceremony include the following: Kathryn Wilson - Kathryn is signing to play tennis at Division 1 Purdue University in West Lafayette. She completed a perfect 30-0 season last spring with an individual singles state championship, which she will attempt to defend this spring. Kathryn has been named All-Conference three times, All-Area three times, first team All-State three times, and The Republic Girls Tennis Player of the Year in 2023. She was also named the Girls Tennis Player of the Year at the Indiana High School Sports Awards ceremony in 2023. She chose Purdue after offers from Xavier and Gonzaga, and plans to study Supply Chain and Operations Management at Purdue. Nico Gotoh - Nico is signing to play soccer at Division 3 Hanover College in Hanover, Indiana. A four-year letterwinner, Nico was named to The Republic All-Area Soccer Team, was named All-Conference Indiana Honorable Mention, Academic All-State, and Second Team All-District 4. He was a member of the 2022 IHSAA State Championship Runners-Up team. He chose Hanover after offers from Wabash and Georgia Southwestern, and plans to study Kinesiology and Physical while at Hanover. Christian Cardoso - Christian is signing to play soccer at NAIA IU Columbus. He was named Co-MVP and a captain of his team as a senior and earned his fourth varsity letter. He was first team All-Conference Indiana, first team All-District 4, first team All-State, and named to The Republic All-Area team. He was a member of the 2022 State Championship Runners-Up team, and has been nominated for the Indiana Soccer Player of the Year Award. Christian chose IU Columbus after receiving offers from Bellarmine, Wabash, Manchester, and Hanover, and plans to study Physical Therapy or Nursing at IU Columbus. Luke Revell - Luke is signing to play football at Division 3 Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota. Luke was a team captain his senior year, was named the Bull Dog Award winner, earned Academic All-State, and was named to The Republic All-Area Team. He was named All-Region 10 and will play in the North-South All-Star Game this summer. He was also named a National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete. Luke received offers from Hillsdale College, Lawrence Tech, Tiffin University, Wabash, Trine, Case Western Reserve, and Calvin University. Luke plans to study Econometrics and Public Policy while at Carleton. Bryce Luttrell - Bryce is signing to play football at Division 3 Trine University in Angola, Indiana. Bryce was named first team All-Conference Indiana, All-Region 10, and was named to The Republic All Area team. Bryce set a school record for longest made field goal, was voted by his teammates as the 2024 Special Teams MVP, and was an Honorary Captain. He chose Trine over offers from Franklin College and Mount Saint Joseph. While at Trine, Bryce plans to study Business. This will be one final collegiate signing ceremony for the Class of 2024.
