Cross country teams with excellent performances at Eagle Classic

September 11, 2022 - Many of the top cross county programs across the state of Indiana gathered in Brown County for the Eagle Classic. The Columbus North boys and girls teams had outstanding showings at the event. In the girls Elite division, Julia Kiesler and Lily Baker took the top two spots among 153 runners, leading the Bull Dogs to the team title with 75 points, 50 points ahead of second place Carmel. In the Reserves division, the Bull Dogs finished second with Kenzie Pendleton taking second individually. The Dogs took four of the top nine places in the Reserves division. The boys finished third with 103 points, behind Carmel (66) and Zionsville (93). The Elite boys were led by Clayton Guthrie, who finished ninth. The boys Reserve team finished fourth, led by Rylan Hottell’s eleventh-place finish, and the boys finished third in the Fresh/Soph division with Draven Martinez finishing second. Photo: Bull Dog Juia Kiesler won the Eagle Classic in Brown County on Saturday in 17:28.7, over twenty seconds ahead of teammate Lily Baker who took second. The girls won the Elite division team title, with the boys finishing third.
