September 11, 2022 - In a battle of top-ten teams, fifth-ranked Carmel defeated the seventh-ranked Bull Dogs 1-0 at the BCSC Soccer Complex on Friday evening (September 9). The Greyhounds were able to fire 19 shots at the Bull Dogs (8-1-1), with eight of them being on-goal. Carmel’s Josiah Shepson found the back of the net with two minutes to play in the first half for the match’s only score. Carmel’s aggressive defense held North to just two shots, neither of which were on goal. Oscar Ballinas and Max Grewe split time in goal with each recording three saves. Konnor Gribbons recorded a kick save of his own in the second half. Carmel took the early game as well, 6-0, dropping the Bull Dogs’ JV record to 7-2. Both teams will host East Central on Monday evening as the Bull Dogs celebrate Teacher Appreciation Night. Team seniors have selected teachers who were influential in their educational careers and these teachers will be recognized prior to the varsity game.
