North track and field splits dual meet with Seymour

April 14, 2024 - While some of Columbus North’s distance runners were participating in the Franklin Central Distance Showcase Friday evening, the remainder of both squads traveled to Seymour for a dual meet. The Bull Dogs won the girls meet 110-22, while the Owls took the boys division 77-55. Columbus North event winners in the girls division included 4x800m Relay 100m hurdles - Emerson Chambers (shown) 100m - Chambers 1600m - Tristan Works 4x100m Relay 400m - Maggie Russell 800m - Works 200m - Chambers 3200m - Macy Eaton 4x400m Relay Shot Put - Abbi Schiefer Discus - Gabby Revell Long Jump - Sierra Newell Pole Vault - Newell Boys winners for Columbus North include 110m hurdles - Owen Russell 100m - Matthew Burge 1600m - Jonathan Klaus 400m - Derek Arau-Ortiz 3200m - Evan Bense Shot Put - Drew Schiefer High Jump - Tucker Tower At the Distance Showcase, Neal White finished 19th in the one-mile run, and Graham Pumphrey finished 29th in the freshmen mile. In the girls races, Carys Glyn-Jones finished 22nd in the mile run. Both teams will compete in a dual meet at Columbus East on Thursday, April 18, beginning at 5:30 pm.
