April 16, 2024 - Columbus North’s Bailee Scruggs threw a 163-pitch, one-hit gem against Columbus East, but it took ten innings for North to edge the Olympians 2-1 and improve to 3-1 for the season. Scruggs struck out twelve batters in her complete-game victory. North got on the board in the bottom of the first inning when Scruggs singled, scoring Payton Morris from second. The Olympians answered in the top of the fourth inning, knotting the score at 1-1. That score would hold into the bottom of the tenth inning when Morgan Jarvis singled, stole second base, and then scored from second on a fielding error on a ball put in play by Morris. Scruggs had two hits for the night, and the Dogs got one each from Kelsey Lovelace, Jarvis, Morris, Summer Williams, Avery Sheehan, and Ali Wooten. North will be on the road at Bloomington North Tuesday evening, beginning at 5:30 pm. Photo: Bailee Scruggs threw a complete-game one hitter against Columbus East on Monday evening.
