April 17, 2024 - Columbus North improved to 4-1 overall and remained perfect at 2-0 in Conference Indiana with an 8-6 victory over Bloomington North in varsity softball on Tuesday evening. One day after a ten-inning complete game victory over Columbus East, Bailee Scruggs was back in the circle again against the Cougars. She threw seven innings, giving up four earned runs with 14 strikeouts against only four walks. She also had a pair of hits at the plate, including a double. Kelsey Lovelace (shown) and Morgan Jarvis each added a pair of hits, and Lovelace scored three runs and recorded an RBI in the victory. After taking Wednesday off, the Dogs will be back on the diamond on Thursday evening when they host another Conference Indiana foe, the Southport Cardinals. Game time is scheduled for 6:00 pm.
