Baseball routs Franklin Central, improving to 5-1

April 17, 2024 - The Bull Dogs got off to a rough start at Franklin Central on Tuesday evening, falling behind the Flashes 3-0 after one inning of varsity boys baseball. They rallied back with a vengeance, scoring ten runs in the top of the second inning, to roll past Franklin Central 15-4 in five innings and improve to 5-1 for the season. Blake Osbourne got the start on the mound for the Dogs, lasting two innings, giving up three earned runs, while striking out one and walking one. Javier Uscanga threw the next two innings, allowing just two hits and striking out a pair of Flashes. Ryan Rayburn had a perfect fifth inning to close the game. Osbourne and Connor Hensley each had two hits for the Bull Dogs. Osbourne and Sam Perry each knocked in three runs, and Zach McClean scored three times in the victory. The JV team fell to 2-3 for the season with a 4-3 loss to the Flashes. The Bull Dogs will host Jennings County on Thursday, April 18. First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 pm at Southside Elementary.
