April 21, 2024 - Less than one day after defeating third-ranked Floyd Central at home, the Bull Dogs traveled to fourth-ranked Noblesville and won 6-3 in eight innings. Dillon James (shown) ripped a double in the right-center gap with two outs in the eighth inning to score Jesse Clark (who was running for Zac McLean who had singled to lead off the inning), Lane Schrader (who was running for Joey Fry who had reached on an error), and Sam Perry who had walked ahead of James. The bases-clearing double broke a 3-3 tie and led the Bull Dogs to the victory and an 8-1 record. Blake Osbourne got the start on the mound and threw the first six-and-one-third innings, scattering six hits and giving up three runs (two earned). Osbourne struck out seven and walked only two Millers in his outing. Joey Fry came on in relief in the seventh inning and ran into some early trouble before settling down and earning the victory. Fry gave up no hits and one unearned run while walking two batters. James, Osbourne, Brock Kintner, Connor Hensley, and McLean each recorded hits for the Bull Dogs, who will travel to Southport on Tuesday to begin Conference Indiana play. The JV team lost both games of a doubleheader at Roncalli, 7-6 and 11-1 to fall to 2-5 for the season.
