Baseball drops second consecutive contest after winning nine straight

May 3, 2024 - Columbus North had not given up more than four runs in any of the first 15 games this season. Bedford North Lawrence put six runs on the board in the top of the fourth inning and cruised to an 11-2 victory over the Bull Dogs on Thursday evening. The Dogs could only tally three hits, a triple by Dillon James and singles by Brock Kintner and Jayce Emmitt. Kintner had both RBI in the loss. The Dogs left seven runners on base for the game. Blake Osbourne got the start on the mound for North and gave up six earned runs on six hits while striking out two and walking none. Kinter threw one inning and gave up four runs on four hits with two walks and two strikeouts. Jesse Clark was called on to pitch the final two innings. Clark gave up one run on three hits in his outing. The JV Bull Dogs earned a 13-7, eight inning victory over Shelbyville to improve to 4-9 for the season. The Dogs (13-3) will complete their ninth game in ten days when they host Columbus East (6-13) this evening at Southside Elementary. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
