May 9, 2024 - Bloomington South rallied with a run in the top of the seventh inning and the game ended with Panther base runners on second and third base, but the Bull Dogs were able to hold on for a 3-2 Conference Indiana victory on Wednesday evening at Southside. Zach McLean was 2-for-3 at the plate, including a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth inning, and Connor Hensley added three hits of his own in the leadoff spot to lead the Bull Dogs’ offense. Blake Osbourne pitched the first six innings, allowing just one run on four hits with seven strikeouts, to improve to 3-1 for the season with a 3.91 ERA. Joey Fry came on in the seventh and earned the save. Fry didn’t give up any hits, but a pair of walks and two wild pitches gave the Panthers a chance to rally in the seventh. Fry settled down and forced the final two batters into a fly out and pop out to secure the Bull Dog victory. The JV team fell at Bloomington South 3-2 to drop to 4-10 for the season. The Bull Dogs (15-4) will host Terre Haute South on Saturday morning at 11:00 am.
