May 10, 2024 - A 2-0 victory over Bloomington South on Thursday evening earned Columbus North a share of the Conference Indiana softball title with a 4-1 conference record. Terre Haute South, who Columbus North beat 10-9 earlier in the season, also finished with a 4-1 record in Conference Indiana. Bailee Scruggs threw a complete-game, two-hit gem for North, striking out ten and walking just one batter. The Dogs were able to muster only four hits of their own, but they made those hits count for a pair of runs. Kelsey Lovelace doubled twice, once in the first inning and once in the sixth. She then scored both times thanks to RBI by Payton Morris to provide the winning margin. After a makeup game against Shelbyville on Friday night, May 10 (Southside Elementary fields, 5:30 pm), North will host a double header against North Harrison on Saturday morning (May 11). First pitch is scheduled for 10:00 am. Photo: Bailee Scruggs, shown here against Brownstown Central on May 6, threw a complete-game, two-hit shutout against Bloomington South on Thursday evening.
