Bull Dogs earn outright Conference Indiana baseball title with 7-2 victory over Braves

May 11, 2024 - The Bull Dogs baseball team beat Terre Haute South 7-2 to finish Conference Indiana with a 4-1 record to earn the outright conference baseball title. The victory improved North to 16-4 overall heading into the final week of the regular season. Zach McLean had four RBI on two hits and a walk to lead the North offense. Connor Hensley, Brock Kintner, Jayce Emmitt, and Sam Perry all had two hits for the Bull Dogs, who pounded out eleven hits as a team. Hensley got the start on the mound for Columbus North, who recognized eight seniors prior to the first pitch. The program’s seniors include players Hensley, Blake Osbourne, McLean, Dillon James, Ryan Rayburn, and Rylan Wormer, as well as managers Layne Hoeflinger and Laura Heredia. Hensley (4-0) gave up two earned runs on five hits in six innings of work, while striking out six and walking one. Rayburn pitched the seventh inning and allowed only one hit and no runs. The Bull Dogs will host Fishers (19-7) on Monday evening. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 pm. The JV team will travel to Fishers the same evening, beginning at 6:30.
