Boys second at IHSAA Track and Field Sectional

May 17, 2024 - Host Columbus North’s 116 team points finished runners up to Center Grove (185) and ahead of Greenwood Community (102) in the twelve-team boys Track and Field Sectional meet on Thursday evening. The following Bull Dog performances earned automatic spots in next week’s Regional via their top-three finish at the Sectional meet: Liam Milne (3rd in 110m hurdles - 15.09) Jace Works (1st in 800m - 1:54.80) Akot Tong (2nd in 800m - 1:55.72) Jonny Klaus (3rd in 3200m - 9:35.06) Drew Schiefer (2nd in discus 0 - 150-07, and 1st in shot put - 53.02) 4x400m relay (Works, Tong, Ben Stevens, Derek Arau-Ortiz - 2nd - 3:25.03) 4x800m relay (Works, Tong, Draven Martinez, Logan Vanzant - 1st - 7:47.06) Other Bull Dogs who finished in the top eight positions and hope for a possible call-back to the Regional meet included Matt Burge (5th in 100m, 7th in 200m) Owen Russell (5th in 110m hurdles, 4th in 300m hurdles) Milne (3rd in 300m) Stevens (7th in 400m) Martinez (4th in 1600m) Vanzant (8th in 1600m) Adam Reckers (4th in 3200m) Santi DeLuna (7th in discus) Tucker Tower (6th in high jump) Daniel Johnson (8th in pole vault) Bryce Harriman (5th in shot put) 4x100m relay (Burge, Milne, Russell, Josiah Davis - 4th) The boys track and field Regional meet will held at Greenfield Central on Thursday, May 23, beginning at 6:00 pm.
