September 26, 2022 - Head cross county coaches Andy Keffaber and Rick Sluder used the Golden Bear Cross Country Invite as an opportunity to rest some of their key runners and allow other athletes to compete against other quality opponents. The results were third place finishes for both boys and girls teams. In the girls division, Columbus North’s top five performances included Ainsley Sherlock (eighth), Kenzie Meye (22nd), Charley Kerber (27th), Lana Wisler (28th), and Madysin Perry (31st). The average time for North’s top five runners was 20:39.26, good enough for third place behind Carmel and Cathedral. North scored 116 team points. The boys also placed third behind Carmel and Mt. Vernon with 92 team points. Draven Martinez finished tenth, Adler Larson 15th, Adam Reckers 18th, Sam Hobbeheydar 22nd, and Akot Tong 24th to lead the Dogs. The average time for North’s top five runners was 16:47.88, again good enough for third place in that category. The Dogs will travel to Terre Haute on Saturday (Oct 1) for the Nike XC Town Twilight.
