June 3, 2024 - Columbus North track and field qualified in four events for the IHSAA State Track and Field Championships held this weekend in Bloomington. Carys Glyn-Jones was the sole female athlete to qualify for the meet. She finished 20th in the 1600m (5:07.73) and sixth place in the 800m (2:11.43) at Friday’s girls championships. Akot Tong was 17th in the boys 800m on a rainy Saturday boys championship in 1:59.12. Tong teamed with Frankie Polyak, Logan Vanzant, and Jace Works to finish 16th in the 4x800m relay (8:09.83). The Dogs were in third place with just 150 meters remaining in the race, but an unfortunate fall cost North valuable time and position in the field.
