June 9, 2024 - Senior Kathryn Wilson defended her IHSAA Individual Singles championship with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Harrison’s Emma Gu in the finals. Wison had won her semifinal match earlier in the day by the same score. The victory drew to an end the storied career of one of the most decorated players in Columbus North history. Wilson finished with a 104-2 career record. She was 46-1 playing number two singles behind sister Ashlie in 2021 and 2022, and 58-1 as the number one singles player, including two State Championships in 2023 and 2024. Dozens of Columbus North fans attended the State Finals supporting Wilson, including Ashie, who warmed up with Kathryn between matches. Wilson will attend and play tennis at Purdue University beginning in the fall.
