June 25, 2024 - Columbus North Athletic Director Brian Lewis has announced some exciting news for Columbus North students. “Due to the generous contributions of community donors, Columbus North students will be admitted free to ALL home athletic events for the 2024-25 school year,” Lewis announced on Monday, June 24. Students will need to show their Columbus North ID badges and lanyards for free admission. This will not apply to IHSAA events such as sectional or regional tournaments, nor to any Columbus North versus Columbus East contest that is hosted by Columbus East. “We’ve been working on this plan since February as an attempt to increase student attendance at our home contests. We are very excited to see the Dog Pound packed more regularly this upcoming school year, and we are so grateful for the generosity of our anonymous donors,” Lewis explained. In other ticket news, All-Sports Passes will remain the same price as recent years, with family passes (up to six living in the same household) staying at $225, and single adult passes being $90. Individual game tickets for adults and non-CNHS students, however, will increase from $6 to $7 this school year to keep up with the increasing costs of providing the student athletes what they need to participate safely and at their best. “We considered increasing prices at this time last year as the rest of the teams in Conference Indiana increased their ticket prices to $7, but we were able to find ways to trim a few items from our budget to hold off the increase for one more year,” Lewis said. “We just couldn’t make the numbers work this year as prices for all of our supplies and services have continued to increase without making a small bump in ticket prices. Our hope is that allowing North High School students in for free as well as keeping All-Sports Passes the same price will help offset the financial burden for most families.” All-Sports Passes will be available for purchase beginning at the annual Blue & White event on August 10. Lewis said, “This effort was made possible by some phenomenal donors in our community who were so excited to be part of this project. We hope that we see a significant increase in student attendance at our events so this can continue in future years. We can’t thank our donors enough for making this happen.”
