Dogs knock out Stars in volleyball

September 28, 2022 - Columbus North volleyball improved its season record to 11-12 with a 3-1 victory over the Stars of Bedford North Lawrence on Tuesday (September 27). The Dogs took the first two sets (25-17, 25-20) before dropping the third set 20-25. The Dogs rallied and dominated the fourth set 25-14. Karen Dutro led the Bull Dogs with 17 kills and eleven blocks. Emily Stair and and Katelynn Mabis had 18 and 13 digs, respectively, while Emma Burns tallied 29 assists. Logan Branstetter (four aces, nine points) and Mabis (two aces and 18 points) led Columbus North in serving statistics. The JV Bull Dogs swept BNL 2-0 (25-11, 25-20) in the early match to improve to 6-6 for the season. The Bull Dogs will play host to the Olympians of Columbus East on Thursday, September 29 and will recognize their seniors for Senior Night. C-team and JV will get underway at 6:00 pm, with varsity to follow around 7:30. Columbus middle school volleyball players will admitted free as guests of Columbus North volleyball that evening as well.
