October 3, 2022 - A record-setting season by Ava Bunker came to a climactic end with an individual IHSAA State Championship. Bunker carded a two-day total of 142 (69-73) to finish two-under par and nine shots clear of her nearest competitor. Carmel took the team title. Bunker became only the second freshman to win the individual state title, and the first since 2003. Bunker joins Holly Anderson (2016) as the only female individual state golf champions in Columbus North history. Statistically, Bunker became the first Bull Dog in program history to have a scoring average under par for the season. She twice tied the school record for the lowest 18-hole round with respect to par (-5), and set a new 9-hole scoring record of 30 (-6) earlier this season.
