Girls fourth, boys ninth in Nike XC Town Twilight

October 3, 2022 - Some of the top cross country programs from eight different states descended on Terre Haute this weekend to compete in the Nike XC Town Twliight. The top-ranked Columbus North girls finished fourth in the event with 120 points behind Prospect HS (IL) (34), second-ranked Noblesville (111), and Mason HS (OH) (118). Top individual finishers for the Bull Dogs in the girls USA Race of Champions included Lily Baker (fourth), Julia Kiesler (ninth), Julie Klaus (38th), Sydney Morlock (40th), and Ellen White (49th). In the boys USA Race of Champtions, Columbus North scored 286 points, good enough for ninth place. The boys team champion was Jesuit HS from New Orleans. Clayton Guthrie finished seventh to lead the boys team, followed by William Russell (22nd), Mateo Mendez (60th), Kellen Hottell (99th), and Adler Larson (112th). In the Open division, the Bull Dog girls took second place and were led by Kenzie Meyer’s seventh-place finish. The boys finished fifth and Charlie Smith finished 18th. In the JV division, the boys finished tenth, led by Emiliano Lopez who finished 54th. The girls were led by Carys Glen-Jones, who finished fourth in the JV division. The JV girls finished seventh as a team. Both teams will compete in the Brown County Sectional on Saturday, October 8.
