August 27, 2024 - Until the middle of the second half of their match with Franklin Community, the Columbus North girls soccer team dominated everywhere but the scoreboard. They controlled the ball and out-shot the Grizzly Cubs, but just couldn’t find the back of the net. Lily Ryan (shown) broke the drought in the middle of the second half, slipping one past the keeper to give the Dogs a 1-0 lead. North (2-1) would add another goal a few minutes later as Allison Kolhouse tipped in a corner kick from Rachel Merritt, giving the Dogs the 2-0 advantage that they’d have at the end of the match. The JV Bull Dogs (2-1) also won the early match, 6-0 as five different Dogs found the net. Columbus North will host cross-town rivals Columbus East as part of Rivalry Week on Wednesday at 6:00 pm (JV) and 7:30 (Varsity). CNHS students will be admitted free with student ID. All other tickets can be purchased in advance at https://public.eventlink.com/tickets?t=89021 and validated at the gate or using credit card only at the gate. No cash tickets will be sold.
