August 28, 2024 - Columbus North hosted a very talented Trinity Lutheran squad on Tuesday evening and the Cougars left with a 3-1 victory over the Bull Dogs. The Cougars took the first two sets, 25-19 and 25-18 before the Dogs bounced back for a 25-20 victory in the third set. The Cougars closed out the match with a 25-16 victory in the fourth set and a 3-1 victory in the match. Statistical leaders for the Bull Dogs included: Kills: Karen Dutro (15), Kennedy Horn (10) Blocks: Horn and Dutro each had five Assists: Lexi Denny (9), Reese Edwards (8), Holly Evans (7) Digs: Morgan Osborn (16) Aces: Horn (3) The JV and freshman teams each went to an extra-set tiebreaker, with Trinity Lutheran winning the JV match 2-1 and the Bull Dogs taking the ninth grade game by the same score. The Bull Dogs will host Roncalli on Thursday evening, beginning at 6:00 pm before the varsity team competes at the Bloomington South Invitational on Saturday.
