Girls soccer sweep Floyd Central in a pair of shutouts

September 2, 2024 - Columbus North girls soccer won their fourth straight match (all by shutout) after a season-opening loss at Center Grove with a 2-0 victory over Floyd Central on Saturday (Aug 31). Grace Bethuram (shown) and Paige Terry each scored goals (assists to Evelin Lopez and Rachel Fulp, respectively) as the Dogs out-shot the HIghlanders 24-4. 16 of the Bull Dogs’ 24 shots were on-frame. The JV followed the varsity match with just one half of play and also won 2-0. Rosie Brockhaus and Riley Sims each had goals, and Aliyah Young had an assist in the JV’s fourth straight shutout victory. The girls will be back on the pitch Thursday, September 5 at Roncalli. JV is scheduled to begin at 5:30 with varsity to follow.
