Volleyball team evens Conference Indiana record with victory over Southport

September 11, 2024 - Columbus North’s 3-1 victory over Southport on Tuesday evening was their fourth victory in the last five matches, improving their overall record to 6-10, and improving their Conference Indiana record to 1-1. The Bull Dogs won the first set 25-17, but the Cardinals rallied to even the match 1-1 with a 25-18 victory in set two. The Dogs won the third set 25-18, and then closed out the match with an exciting 27-25 victory in the final set. Kennedy Horn tallied 16 kills for the match. Lexi Denny had 22 assists, with Reese Edwards adding 16 assists of her own. Morgan Osborn had three service aces, with Karen Dutro leading the Dogs with 18 kills and seven blocks. The JV team lost the first set and trailed late in the second set before rallying for a 2-1 victory in the early match. Southport did not have a 9th grade team. The JV team now stands at 9-3 for the season, including 2-0 in Conference Indiana. The Bull Dogs will travel to Scottsburg this evening (September 11) for a JV/V doubleheader beginning at 6:00 pm.
