Soccer team opens Conference Indiana play with victory over Southport

September 12, 2024 - The Columbus North girls soccer team recorded its seventh consecutive shutout in a 5-0 victory at Southport Wednesday evening, improving their overall record to 6-1-1 and beginning their Conference Indiana schedule 1-0. Grace Betherum and Avery Baker each had two goals, and Baker added two assists in the victory. Rachel Merritt added the fifth goal and Rachel Fulp and Kaitlyn Kasidas had assists as the Dogs improved to 6-0-1 since an opening-match loss at Center Grove on August 19. The JV team rolled to 6-1-1 as well with a 9-0 victory in the early match. The JV team has allowed one goal in eight matches this season. Lily Ryan had four goals against Southport with Rosie Brockhaus added two. The girls will next be on the pitch on Saturday at Greenfield Central. JV begins at 10:30 am with varsity to follow.
