October 22, 2022 - One or two service breaks can be the difference in the outcome of a tennis match between two evenly-matched teams. The Columbus North doubles tennis team of Amrit Kar and Anvay Atram gave up a service break in each of the two sets and lost the IHSAA State Championship match 4-6, 4-6 to a very talented North Central team. Kar and Atram, both juniors, finished the season with a 29-1 record and State runners-up. The Bull Dog team was eliminated in the State Quarterfinal round, ending their season with a 24-3 record. Kar and Atram were the only individual positions to advance after Hank Lin lost to eventual state champion Andrew Gu from West Lafayette Harrison.
