Columbus North cross country with outstanding showing at Eagle Classic

September 14, 2024 - The Bull Dog girls and boys cross country teams each placed second at the Brown County Eagle Classic on Saturday morning in a 17-team field that showcased many of the top-ten programs in Indiana. North’s girls team took second in the Elite division with 99 team points. Carmel’s 59 points won the girls division. Carys Glyn-Jones placed third individually among 164 runners in a time of 5:53. Others scoring points for North included Kyleigh Wolf (15th), Tristan Works (19th), Ainsley Sherlock (25th), and Macy Eaton (37th). In the boys Elite division, North’s 75 points put them second to Brownsburg (48), but well ahead of Carmel (114), who finished third. Neal White set the pace for the Bull Dogs, finishing 2nd overall among 160 competitors. Others scoring team points for the Dogs included Jace Works (12th), Logan Vanzant (13th), Evan Bense (19th), and Sam Steinmetz (29th). The Bull Dogs finished first (Justin Reckers), second (Joseph Day), and fifth (Graham Pumphrey) to win the team title in the Freshman/Sophomore division with 49 points. Avon was a close second with 55 points There was no Freshman/Sophomore division for the girls. Columbus North will host the Conference Indiana meet on Saturday, September 21 at Ceraland. The North girls also finished second.
