September 19, 2024 - The Bull Dogs girls soccer team posted its tenth consecutive shutout and improved its record to 9-1-1 with a 1-0 victory over a scrappy and physical Lawrence North team on Wednesday night at Richard Wigh Soccer Complex in Columbus. Avery Baker put the only score of the match on the board with 2:25 left in the first half. Goalkeeper Dankia Hoehn and North’s defense preserved the shutout with a perfect defensive sheet. The JV team, having given up only two goals the entire season, gave up three on Wednesday, but the offense answered the call, giving the Dogs (9-1-1) a 5-3 victory. Columbus North will face its third consecutive “North” team when they take on Terre Haute North on Saturday at the BCSC Soccer Complex. The varsity team will play on the turf field at noon, followed by the JV team on the adjoining grass field. The boys teams will do just the opposite in a four-match event against the Patriots. Fans watching the JV match on the grass field are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets as seating will be very limited on the grass field for spectators.
