Boys tennis team announces postseason awards

November 8, 2022 - The Columbus North boys tennis team recently released their list of postseason awards following a season in which they won Conference Indiana, Sectional, Regional, and Semi State championships and finished the season ranked fifth. They lost to eventual State Runners-up and top-ranked Lafayette Harrison in the State Quarterfinals. The team finished 24-3, including an overall varsity singles record of 61-19, and a varsity doubles record of 51-6. The Reserve squad finished 27-9 in singles matches and 89-24 in doubles. Earning varsity letters for the Bull Dogs included Parth Gupta, Darren Li, Tiger Bergman, Roberto Cantu, Sid Kamble, Prana Ramnath, Anvay Atram, Amrit kar, Austin Clark, Hank Lin, Parth Shah, Steven Sun, and Yoki Murabayashi. Team Captains: Austin Clark, Amrit Kar (both will serve as captains for the 2023 season as well). Most Improved Players: Steven Sun (varsity), Michael Crossman (jv). Mental Attitude/Sportsmanship: Amrit Kar Team MVP: Hank Lin Bull Dog Player Award: Hank Lin Nominated Conference Indiana All-Conference: Hank Lin, Amrit Kar, Anvay Atram, Parth Shah Nominated/Selected to All-District: Hank Lin, Austin Clark, Anvay Atram and Amrit Kar, Parth Gupta and Parth Shah All-State: Hank Lin (First Team), Austin Clark (Honorable Mention), Anvay Atram and Amrit Kar (First Team), Parth Gupta and Parth Shah (Honorable Mention) Nominated for “Team” All-State Academics (3.79 team GPA) Amrit kar and Anvay Atram finished 29-1 and were IHSAA State Runners-up
