September 20, 2024 - After recognizing the program’s five seniors, Reese Edwards, Holly Evans, Ally Wettschurack, Lucy Wilson, and Kennedy Horn, Columbus North and Jennings County fought a spirited volleyball battle with the Panthers prevailing 3-1. Jennings County won the first set 25-20, but the Dogs battled back to even the match 1-1 with a 25-20 advantage in set two. The Panthers had all the momentum in set three, winning 25-12, but the Dogs would not go away. A back and forth set four went to the visitors 25-21 as they closed the match with a 3-1 victory. Statistical leaders for North (8-12) included Digs: Morgan Osborne (20) Kills: Horn (14), Karen Dutro (13), Elaina Penrod (7) Service aces: Horn and Edwards (2) Assists: Edwards (13), Evans (11) Blocks: Horn (5), Addy Dean (4), Dutro (3) The JV team improved to 12-4 with a 2-0 sweep of the Panthers in the early match. The Bull Dogs will host New Albany on Tuesday, September 24. JV and freshman teams are scheduled to begin at 6:00 with varsity to follow the JV.
