Columbus North dominates Terre Haute North in boys soccer

September 22, 2024 - The Bull Dogs boys soccer team recognized and honored its eleven seniors prior to the varsity match and then blew out the Patriots 6-0 to improve to 8-3-1. The Conference Indiana victory kept the Dogs undefeated in conference play at 2-0. Madux Tovey scored in the 16th minute from an assist from Bryan Rodriguez. Rodriguez then scored two goals of his own to put the Dogs up 3-0 at halftime. Jonah Sipes recorded the assist on Rodriguez’s first goal and his second came off of a free kick. Leo Iorio then headed in a Luccas Peda corner kick in the 54th minute, and Edwin De La Cruz pounded home a Parker Gribbins assist to make the score 5-0 in the 56th minute. Senior Ben Stevens closed the scoring with his first goal of the season with under a minute to play. Classmate Jesus Olivo earned the assist on Stevens’ goal. The Dogs dominate statistically as well, recording 42 shots while allowing zero shots by the Patriots. They had a 17-0 advantage in shots-on-goal for the match. In the early match, the JV team rolled to a 10-0 victory, improving to 6-2-3 for the season. Next up for the Bull Dogs will be a road trip to Bloomington South on Tuesday for a Conference Indiana matchup. JV will begin at 6:00 with the varsity match to follow.
