Volleyball falls to tough Floyd Central squad

September 26, 2024 - After an emotional five-set victory over New Albany on Tuesday evening, Columbus North volleyball made a road trip to fourth-ranked Floyd Central (19-3). While the Bull Dogs battled in all three sets, the Highlanders took all three (17-25, 16-25, 21-25), dropping North to 9-13 for the season. Statistical leaders for North in the Floyd Central match included: Kills: Kennedy Horn (12), Karen Dutro (7), Elaina Penrod (5) Digs: Morgan Osborn (7) Service Aces: Horn, Lucy Wilson (1) Assists: Reese Edwards (13), Holly Evans (12) Blocks: Horn (6), Tania Maldonado (5), Dutro (4) The Highlanders swept both early matches 2-0 as the JV fell to a 13-5 record for the season, and the freshmen dropped to 6-4. The Dogs will be back on the road this afternoon (September 26) at Greenwood Community. JV is scheduled to begin at 6:00 with varsity to follow.
